Chemical Passivation Services for Corrosion Resistance
Passivation is a critical non-electrolytic chemical treatment used primarily for stainless steel. During machining, microscopic particles of free iron from cutting tools can embed themselves into the surface of the part. If left untreated, these particles will rust, compromising the integrity and hygiene of the component.

We offer tailored chemical treatments based on alloy type and industry requirements:
  • Citric Acid Passivation: An eco-friendly, biodegradable process. It is highly effective for a wide range of stainless steels and is gaining popularity for its safety and speed.
  • Nitric Acid Passivation: The traditional method offering powerful oxidation. Ideal for certain aerospace applications and older specifications that strictly require nitric acid.
  • Ultrasonic Cleaning: Before passivation, we subject all parts to rigorous ultrasonic cleaning to remove cutting oils and debris, ensuring the acid can reach the metal surface evenly.
  • Verification Testing: We verify the success of the process using Copper Sulfate testing, Ferroxyl testing, or Water Immersion tests to guarantee no free iron remains.
