CNC Machining Guidelines for Monel K500
- Work-Hardening Avoidance: Monel K500 will work-harden rapidly if the cutting tool is allowed to dwell or rub. We program our CNC machines to maintain a constant, steady feed rate, ensuring the tool is always cutting beneath the work-hardened layer.
- Rigidity is Crucial: The material exerts high forces on cutting tools. We use the shortest possible tool overhangs and extremely rigid workholding fixtures to eliminate chatter.
